December 2020, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 1.49 percent with a CPI of 106.64

Abstract

In December 2020, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 1.49 percent with a CPI of 106.64. Of the 90 CPI cities, 87 cities experienced inflation and 3 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Gunungsitoli at 1.87 percent with a CPI of 107.85 and the lowest occurred in Tanjung Selor at 0.05 percent with a CPI of 102.47. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Luwuk at 0.26 percent with a CPI of 107.51 and the lowest occurred in Ambon at 0.07 percent with a CPI of 105.52.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in some of the index for the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.29 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group of 0.71 percent; equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance group by 0.15 percent; the health group of 0.42 percent; the transportation group of 1.08 percent; the information, communication and financial services group of 0.35 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.05 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.31 percent. Some of the other expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely: the clothing and footwear group by 0.10 percent. Meanwhile, the food and beverage / restaurant supply group and the education group did not experience any changes.
The inflation rate for the calendar year and the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2020 against December 2019) is 2.11 percent.
The energy group in December 2020 experienced inflation of 1.04 percent with the CPI of 101.18. Meanwhile, the foodstuff component in December 2020 experienced inflation of 4.28 percent with a CPI of 108.55.
