Abstract

In December 2018 the city of Pangkalpinang experienced inflation of 1.88 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 141.67.
Inflation occurs because of an increase in prices indicated by an increase in some expenditure group indices, namely: foodstuffs group of 3.44 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.27 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel by 0.66 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group of 5.02 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the clothing group by 0.07 percent; health group by 0.14 percent; and recreational education and sports groups by 0.03 percent.
The inflation rate for the calendar year (January-December) 2018 and the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2018 to December 2017) are 3.45 percent respectively.
The core component in December 2018 experienced inflation of 0.33 percent. Government regulated component inflation was 4.25 percent and volatile components were 3.92 percent.
The Combined Two Cities in the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands, namely the cities of Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan in December 2018 experienced inflation of 1.51 percent with CPI 142.26.
