Abstract

  • In September 2018 the City of Pangkalpinang experienced inflation of 0.05 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 139.54.
  • Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by the rise in several expenditure group indices, namely: processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups by 1.90 percent; clothing group by 0.53 percent; health group by 0.21 percent; recreation and sports education groups by 0.24 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group by 1.29 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the foodstuff category of 1.85 percent and the housing, water, electricity and fuel group of 0.01 percent.
  •  The September 2018 calendar year inflation rate was 1.89 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2018 against September 2017) was 3.30 percent.
  • The core component in September 2018 experienced a deflation of 0.09 percent; volatile component of deflation of 1.83 percent; and the government regulated inflation component of 2.66 percent.
  • Two Cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, namely the City of Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan in September 2018 experienced a deflation of 0.37 percent with CPI of 140.35.
