  • Pangkalpinang City, in September 2020 inflation was 0.05 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 102.52. Of the 90 CPI cities, 34 experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Gunung Sitoli at 1 percent with the CPI of 104.96 and the lowest occurred in Pekan Baru and Pontianak at 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Timika at 0.83 percent with CPI of 106.50. The lowest deflation occurred in Bukit Tinggi, Jember and Singkawang at 0.01 percent.
  • Deflation occurred due to lower prices as indicated by lower indexes in several expenditure groups, namely: the clothing and footwear group by 0.04 percent; the transportation group of 1.95 percent; information, communication and financial services group of 0.21 percent; the personal care and other services group of 0.23 percent. While the groups experiencing inflation were the food, beverage and tobacco group at 1.09 percent; the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 0.11 percent; the education group of 0.08 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.25 percent. Meanwhile, the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups; health group; and the recreation, sports, and culture groups did not experience changes in the index / stable.
  • During the calendar year January-September 2020 (September 2020 against December 2019) there was deflation of 0.38 percent, while annual inflation (September 2020 against September 2019) was deflation of 0.94 percent.
  • The energy component in September 2020 did not experience a change in index / stable with the CPI of 101.33. The foodstuff component in September experienced inflation of 1.58 percent with a CPI of 100.71.
