Abstract

Abstraction
  • In February 2019 the city of Pangkalpinang experienced a deflation of 0.48 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 142.30.
  • Deflation occurs due to a decrease in prices as indicated by the decline in the index in the two expenditure groups, namely: the foodstuffs group at 2.57 percent and the clothing group by 0.27 percent. The expenditure groups that experienced inflation were processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.01 percent; health group by 0.46 percent; recreation and sports education group by 0.04 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group of 1.48 percent. While the housing, water, electricity and fuel groups are still stable.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year of February 2019 was 0.44 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2019 to February 2018) was 3.46 percent.
  • The core component in February 2019 experienced a deflation of 0.37 percent. Component inflation fluctuated by 2.11 percent, while the government regulated inflation component of 0.96 percent.
  • The Combined Two Cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, namely the cities of Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan in February 2019 experienced a deflation of 0.61 percent with an CPI of 142.87.
