February 2019, Tanjungpandan Deflation of 0.82%, CPI of 143.93

Abstraction

• In February 2019, Tanjungpandan City experienced deflation of 0.82 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 143.93

• Deflation occurred due to a decline in prices as indicated by the decline in the two expenditure group indices, namely the foodstuffs group at 4.57 percent and the recreation and sports education group by 0.01 percent. While the other five groups experienced inflation, namely the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.19 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group at 1.27 percent; clothing group by 0.05 percent; health group by 0.13 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group of 1.18 percent.

• The inflation rate for the calendar year of February 2019 is 0.40 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2019 to February 2018) is 2.98 percent.

• The core component in February 2019 experienced inflation of 0.34 percent; volatile components experienced deflation of 4.96 percent; and the government regulated component experienced inflation of 0.75 percent.

•  The Combined Two Cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, namely the cities of Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan in February 2019 experienced a deflation of 0.61 percent with an CPI of 142.87.
