Abstract

  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter II-2019 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp19.02 trillion and GDP at constant prices (ADHK) 2010 reached Rp13.52 trillion.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the second quarter of 2018 (y-on-y) grew by 3.49 percent, slowing compared to the second quarter of 2018 which amounted to 4.50 percent. From the production side, the biggest sources of growth come from the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields. Meanwhile in terms of expenditure, the biggest source of growth comes from the Household Consumption Expenditure Component.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter II-2019 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) grew by 4.16 percent, an increase compared to the previous quarter which experienced contraction (negative growth) of 1.16 percent. From the production side, growth occurred in almost all business fields except mining and quarrying which contracted by 2.82 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, all components experienced growth except the components of foreign imports.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands in semester I-2019 grew 3.15 percent compared to semester I-2018 (c-to-c). From the production side, growth is driven by all business sectors where the biggest source of growth comes from the construction business field. Meanwhile in terms of expenditure, the biggest source of growth comes from the Household Consumption Expenditure Component.
  • The moment of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Simultaneous Elections, several events such as the Wushu National Championship; Kindergarten Teacher Meeting (GTKK), Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and National Education Achievement and Dedication at National Level; The Bangka Bike Festival and other national-level activities taking place in the Bangka Belitung Islands encourage performance improvements in almost all fields of business and also the expenditure component.
  • The spatial structure of the island of Sumatra in the second quarter of 2019 was dominated by the provinces of North Sumatra and Riau. North Sumatra Province gave the largest contribution to the GRDP of Sumatra Island, which amounted to 23.18 percent, followed by Riau Province with 22.29 percent. While the Bangka Belitung Islands Province only contributed 2.23 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island in the second quarter of 2019.
