Abstract

The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the first quarter of 2022 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached Rp. 22.80 trillion and GRDP at constant prices (ADHK) in 2010 reached Rp. 13.72 trillion.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021 (y-on-y) grew by 3.26 percent, an increase compared to the achievement of the first quarter of 2021 which grew by 0.95 percent. From the production side, most of the business fields grew positively, where the highest growth occurred in the Transportation and Warehousing business field. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, most components of expenditure also experienced an increase where the highest growth rate was experienced by the component of household consumption expenditure.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) contracted by 4.48 percent. From the production side, most of the business fields experienced a growth contraction, with the largest contraction occurring in the Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security business fields. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the largest contraction occurred in the component of Foreign Exports.
  • The economy of Sumatra Island in the first quarter of 2022 grew by 4.03 percent compared to the first quarter of 2021 (y-on-y). The total GRDP of ADHB on Sumatra Island in the first quarter of 2022 reached Rp.983.47 trillion or around 21.96 percent of the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the total GRDP of ADHK on the island of Sumatra in the first quarter of 2022 reached Rp599.19 trillion. The GRDP of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province only contributes 2.32 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island and 0.51 percent to the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia.
