Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province Economy in Q2-2024 Grows 1.03 Percent (Y-on-Y)

Abstract

The economy of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province in the second quarter of 2024 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp27.06 trillion and GRDP at constant prices 2010 reached Rp15.35 trillion.
The economy of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province in the second quarter of 2024 against the second quarter of 2023 (y-on-y) grew by 1.03 percent, slowing down compared to the achievement in the second quarter of 2023 which grew by 5.13 percent. In terms of production, most business fields grew positively where the highest growth occurred in the Education Services business field. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, most expenditure components also experienced an increase where the highest growth rate was experienced by the LNPRT consumption expenditure component.
The economy of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the second quarter of 2024 against the previous quarter (q-to-q) grew by 6.07 percent. In terms of production, most business fields grew positively, where the highest growth occurred in the Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security business field. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Export of Goods and Services component.
The economy of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province in the first semester of 2024 against the first semester of 2023 (c-to-c) grew by 1.02 percent, slowing down compared to the achievement of the first semester of 2023 which grew by 4.78 percent. In terms of production, most business fields grew positively where the highest growth occurred in the Corporate Services business field. While from the expenditure side, the highest growth was experienced by the LNPRT consumption expenditure component.
The economy of Sumatra Island in the second quarter of 2024 grew by 4.48 percent against the second quarter of 2023 (y-on-y). The total Current Price GRDP of Sumatra Island in the second quarter of 2024 reached Rp1,213.36 trillion or around 22.08 percent of the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the total Constant Price GRDP of Sumatra Island in the second quarter of 2024 reached Rp678.24 trillion. The GRDP of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province only contributed 2.23 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island and 0.49 percent to the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia.
