Abstract

In September 2020, the percentage of poor people (residents with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line) in the Kepulauan Bangka Belitung reached 4.89 percent, an increase of 0.36 percentage points compared to the condition in March 2020 which was 4.53 percent.

The types of food commodities that have a major effect on the poverty line value in urban and rural areas are rice, filter clove cigarettes, purebred chicken meat, wet cakes, eggs, and instant noodles. Meanwhile, for non-food commodities that have a big influence is the cost of housing, electricity, gasoline, and education.

In September 2020, the level of expenditure inequality of the residents of the Kepulauan Bangka Belitung as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.257. This figure has decreased when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2020, which was 0.262 or decreased by 0.005 points.
