Abstract

In September 2021 Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.38 percent with a CPI of 109.74. Of the 90 CPI cities, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Pangkalpinang at 0.60 percent with a CPI of 104.98 and the lowest occurred in Surakarta at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 105.96. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Gorontalo at 0.90 percent with a CPI of 105.94 and the lowest occurred in Palu at 0.03 percent with a CPI of 108.33.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in some indexes of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 0.95 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.04 percent; health group by 0.01 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.13 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.02 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.25 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 0.20 percent. Clothing and footwear group; transportation group; and the education group did not change.

The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–September) 2021 is 2.91 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2021 to September 2020) is 4.88 percent.

The energy group in September 2021 experienced inflation of 0.04 percent with a CPI of 100.94. Meanwhile, the food ingredients component in September 2021 experienced inflation of 1.16 percent with a CPI of 116.10.
