Abstract

In September 2022, Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.40 percent with a CPI of 115.80. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, the highest inflation occurred in Bukittinggi at 1.87 percent with a CPI of 114.45 and the lowest inflation occurred in Merauke at 0.07 percent with a CPI of 109.49. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Manokwari of 0.64 percent with a CPI of 113.97 and the lowest deflation occurred in Timika of 0.59 percent with a CPI of 113.97.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: clothing and footwear by 0.24 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.19 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.29 percent; transportation group by 6.78 percent; education group of 1.17; personal care and other services group by 0.34 percent; and the group for providing food and beverages/restaurants of 0.03. Some other expenditure groups experienced deflation, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 1.30 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.07 percent. Health expenditure group; and recreation, sports, and cultural groups did not change.

The inflation rate for the calendar year September 2022 is 4.40 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2022 to September 2021) is 5.52 percent.

The energy group in September 2022 experienced inflation of 8.11 percent with a CPI of 114.35. Meanwhile, the foodstuff component in September 2022 experienced a deflation of 2.05 percent with a CPI of 117.30.
