Abstract

In March 2022 a combination of 2 cities in Bangka Belitung experienced inflation of 1.17 percent with a CPI of 109.62. The inflation rate for the calendar year March 2022 is 1.04 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (March 2022 to March 2021) is 3.92 percent.
Both cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands province experienced inflation this month, with Pangkalpinang City at 1.10 percent with a CPI of 109.08 and Tanjungpandan City at 1.29 percent with a CPI of 110.61.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for almost all expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.13 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.33 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 1.53 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.45 percent; health group by 0.11 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.17 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.01 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 1.47 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 1.62 percent. The transportation group was the only expenditure group that experienced deflation of 0.49 percent. Meanwhile, the education group did not experience a change in the index.
The main contribution to inflation in the combination of 2 cities in Bangka Belitung was contributed by house contract commodities, selar fish, and rice with side dishes. Meanwhile, inflation restraint was caused by the decrease in air transportation commodity prices, water spinach, and spinach.
