Abstract

In July 2022, Pangkalpinang City experienced inflation of 1.01 percent with a CPI of 112.88. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kendari at 2.27 percent with a CPI of 113.98 and the lowest was in Tanjung and Pematang Siantar at 0.04 percent with a CPI of 113.88 and 112.53 respectively.
  • Inflation was caused by rising indexes in 7 expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 0.27 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.18 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel groups by 0.71 percent; equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.16 percent; health group by 0.08 percent; transportation group by 5.44 percent; and the group for providing food and beverages/restaurants by 0.17 percent. In contrast, the personal care and other services group experienced a deflation of 0.07 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication, and financial services group; recreation, sports and cultural groups; and the education group did not experience a change in the index.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year July 2022 is 5.34 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2022 to July 2021) is 7.88 percent.
  • The energy group in July 2022 experienced inflation of 1.16 percent with a CPI of 106.96. The food ingredients component also experienced inflation of 0.19 percent with a CPI of 121.69.
