Abstract

In August 2022, Tanjungpandan City experienced a 1.65 percent deflation with a CPI of 115.34. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, the highest inflation occurred in Ambon at 0.82 percent with a CPI of 114.85 and the lowest inflation occurred in Bekasi at 0.12 percent with a CPI of 113.74. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Tanjungpandan of 1.65 percent with a CPI of 115.34 and the lowest deflation occurred in Depok of 0.01 percent with a CPI of 113.29.
  • Deflation occurred due to a decrease in the index of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 3.38 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.36 percent; transportation group by 3.24 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.05 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.23 percent. Some other expenditure groups experienced inflation, namely: clothing and footwear by 0.09 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.15 percent; education group of 0.79; and group providing food and beverages/restaurants by 0.53. Health expenditure group; and recreation, sports, and cultural groups did not change
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year August 2022 is 3.98 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2022 against August 2021) is 5.51 percent
  • The energy group in August 2022 experienced inflation of 0.23 percent with a CPI of 105.77. Meanwhile, the food ingredients component in August 2022 experienced a deflation of 4.49 percent with a CPI of 119.75
