Abstract

In October 2022, Tanjungpandan City experienced a deflation of 1.00 percent with a CPI of 114.64. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, the highest inflation occurred in Manokwari at 0.76 percent with CPI at 114.84 and the lowest inflation occurred in Cilacap, Sintang, and Gorontalo at 0.01 percent with CPI at 112.54 each; 121.19; and 111.94. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Gunungsitoli of 1.48 percent with a CPI of 113.05 and the lowest deflation occurred in Sampit of 0.01 percent with a CPI of 116.56.

Deflation occurred due to a decrease in the index of the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.63 percent; transportation group by 0.43 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.22 percent. Some other expenditure groups experienced inflation, namely: housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.18 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.02 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.37 percent. Clothing and footwear production group; health group; recreation, sports, and cultural groups; education group; and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group did not experience a change in the index.

The inflation rate for the calendar year October 2022 is 3.35 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2022 to October 2021) is 4.92 percent.

The energy component in October 2022 experienced inflation of 0.77 percent with a CPI of 115.23. The foodstuff component in October 2022 experienced a deflation of 3.43 percent with a CPI of 113.28.
