Abstract

In October 2022, Pangkalpinang City experienced a deflation of 0.30 percent with a CPI of 112.34. Of the 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 61 cities experienced deflation and 29 cities experienced inflation. The highest deflation occurred in Gunungsitoli at 1.48 percent with a CPI of 113.05 and the lowest was in Sampit at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 116.56. In contrast, the highest inflation occurred in Manokwari at 0.76 percent with a CPI of 114.84 and the lowest was in Cilacap, Sintang, and Gorontalo at 0.01 percent with a CPI of 112.54 each; 121.19; and 111.94.

Deflation was caused by a decrease in the index in 3 expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 1.05 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.38 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.27 percent. In contrast, 6 expenditure groups experienced inflation, namely: clothing and footwear by 0.05 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel groups by 0.16 percent; equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.50 percent; health group by 0.34 percent; transportation group by 0.05 percent; and the education group by 0.04 percent. Meanwhile, the recreation, sports and culture groups as well as the food and beverage/restaurant supply group did not experience changes in the index.

The inflation rate for the calendar year October 2022 is 4.83 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2022 to October 2021) is 6.98 percent.

The energy group in October 2022 experienced inflation of 0.76 percent with a CPI of 120.24. The foodstuff component experienced deflation of 1.94 percent with a CPI of 115.79
