March 2023 Pangkalpinang City Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 4.04 percent with Month to Month (m-to-m) inflation of 0.26 percent

Abstract

In March 2023 there was Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 4.04 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.49. The highest y-on-y inflation occurred in Tual at 7.49 percent with a CPI of 117.19 and the lowest occurred in Merauke at 3.17 percent with a CPI of 112.59.

Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in 10 expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.99 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.05 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 2.93 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 2.03 percent; the health group by 1.08 percent; transportation group by 13.04 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 1.48 percent; the education group by 0.04 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 4.38 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 4.65 percent. In contrast, the information, communication and financial services group experienced a deflation of 0.59 percent.

The March 2023 Month to Month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 0.26 percent and the March 2023 Year to Date (y-to-d) deflation rate was 0.15 percent.

The y-on-y inflation rate for the Energy component in March 2023 was 14.84 percent and the y-on-y inflation for the Foodstuffs component in March 2023 was 1.40 percent.
