Abstract

  • In August 2023 Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in Pangkalpinang was 3.14 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.02. The lowest y-on-y inflation in Indonesia occurred in Jambi at 1.92 percent with a CPI of 116.37. Meanwhile, the highest y-on-y inflation in Indonesia occurred in Manokwari City at 6.40 percent with a CPI of 122.04.
  • Year on Year (y-on-y) Pangkalpinang inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by the increase in the CPI in almost all expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.53 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.16 percent; housing, air, electricity and household fuel group at 0.55 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.21 percent; health group 14.84 percent; transportation group by 9.25 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 1.41 percent; education group at 0.43 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.77 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.10 percent. On the other hand, the group that experienced deflation or a decline in the CPI was the information, communication and financial services group that experienced deflation of 0.47 percent.
  • The Month to Month (m-to-m) inflation rate for August 2023 in Pangkalpinang is 0.06 percent and the Year to Date (y-to-d) inflation rate for August 2023 is 1.20 percent.
  • The y-on-y inflation rate for the Energy component was 11.15 percent with an inflation share of 1.1213 percent; while the Foodstuffs component experienced inflation of 1.66 percent with an inflation contribution of 0.4119 percent.
