Abstract

  • In October 2023 Pangkalpinang's Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation amounted to 2.88 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.58. The lowest y-on-y inflation in Indonesia occurred in Jayapura at 1.43 percent with a CPI of 112.88. Meanwhile, the highest y-on-y inflation in Indonesia occurred in Tanjungpandan by 5.43 percent with a CPI of 120.87.
  • Year on Year (y-on-y) Pangkalpinang inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by the increase in CPI in almost all expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 6.07 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.09 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.11 percent; health group by 13.13 percent; transportation group by 2.41 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.22 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.66 percent; education group by 1.18 percent; food and beverage supply/restaurant group by 0.72 percent; and personal care and other services group by 1.15 percent. Conversely, the group that experienced deflation or a decrease in the CPI was the group of supplies, equipment, and routine maintenance of households experiencing deflation of 0.13 percent.
  • Pangkalpinang's October 2023 Month to Month (m-to-m) deflation rate was 0.12 percent and October 2023 Year to Date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 1.69 percent.
  • The y-on-y deflation rate of the Energy component amounted to 0.12 percent with a deflationary share of 0.0134 percent; while the Food stuff component experienced inflation of 5.02 percent.
  • y-on-y of 5.02 percent with an inflationary share of 1.2151 percent.
