Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (FER) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
FER is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. Farmer Exchange Rate also shows the exchange rate (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed and for production costs.
The Farmer Exchange Rate of Kepulauan Bangka Belitung Province in March 2024 amounted to 128.81 or increased by 3.46 percent compared to the previous month's FER. The increase in FER was due to the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) increasing by 3.97 percent while the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) increased by 0.50 percent.
FER of Food Crops Subsector (FER-Food Crops) amounted to 103.09; Horticulture Subsector (FER-Horticulture) amounted to 117.96; People's Plantation Crops Subsector (FER-People's Plantation) amounted to 133.32; Livestock Subsector (FER-Livestock) amounted to 110.11; Fisheries Subsector (FER-Fisheries) amounted to 111.50 with Capture Fisheries Group (Fishermen Exchange Rate) amounted to 112.32 and Aquaculture Fisheries Group (Fish Farmer Exchange Rate) amounted to 88.06.
In March 2024 there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index of 0.66 percent due to an increase in the index in 7 expenditure groups. Meanwhile, 1 expenditure group decreased and 3 other expenditure groups experienced no change in index.
The Agricultural Business Exchange Rate of Bangka Belitung Islands Province in March 2024 amounted to 126.48 or increased by 3.96 percent compared to Agricultural Business Exchange Rate the previous month.
