Abstract

In April 2019 Pangkalpinang City experienced inflation of 0.74 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 142.26.
  • Inflation occurs because of an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in some expenditure group indices, namely: foodstuffs group of 1.55 percent; processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group of 0.43 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel by 0.11 percent; health group by 0.36 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group of 1.31 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the clothing group by 0.08 percent and the recreation education and sports group by 0.02 percent.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year (January-April) 2019 inflation is 0.42 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2019 to April 2018) is 2.12 percent.
  • The core component in April 2019 experienced inflation of 0.38 percent. Are government regulated components and turbulent components also experiencing this inflation of 1.05 and 1.41 percent respectively.
  • Combined Two Cities (Pangkalpinang and Tanjungpandan) in April 2019 experienced inflation of 0.89 percent with CPI of 143.57.
