Abstract

A. DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM

The number of guests staying at star-rated hotels in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in May 2019 was 24,049 people. This number fell by 43.81 percent compared to the number of guests in the previous month which amounted to 42,083 people. The number of foreign guests fell by 48.77 percent and the number of domestic guests fell by 43.73 percent.
The hotel occupancy rate (TPK) of star classification in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in May 2019 reached an average of 22.98 percent, down 16.77 points compared to the April 2019 TPK which was recorded at 39.75 percent.
The highest ROR for star-rated hotels by regency / city in May 2019 was in Central Bangka Regency at 34.09 percent, followed by Pangkalpinang City (28.85 percent), Belitung Island (19.71 percent), and Bangka Regency (7.49 percent )
As of May 2019, the average total length of stay of guests in a star classification hotel was 1.77 days, a 0.02 day increase compared to the previous month. During May 2019, the average length of stay of foreign guests (2.41 days) was 0.65 days longer than Indonesian guests (1.76 days).

B. DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

The number of inter-island sea transport passengers departing from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in May 2019 was recorded at 25.57 thousand people, up by 46.93 percent compared to April 2019 which reached 17.40 thousand people. When compared with the same period in the previous year (January-May 2018), the number of passengers departing rose by 75.90 percent.
The number of inter-island sea transport passengers who came in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in May 2019 was recorded at 15.06 thousand people. This amount dropped by 4.89 percent compared to the previous month. If compared to the same period last year (January-May 2018), the flow of passengers coming increased by 40.72 percent.
The volume of goods loaded at the port in May 2019 was 534.23 thousand tons, down by 16.76 percent compared to April 2019 which reached 641.80 thousand tons.
The volume of goods unloaded during May 2019 was 195.78 thousand tons, up by 11.55 percent compared to the previous month which reached 175.50 thousand tons.
The number of air transport passengers departing from the Bangka Belitung Islands in May 2019 was recorded at 74.43 thousand people, down by 21.78 percent compared to the previous month.
The number of passengers who came to the Bangka Belitung Islands by air transport in May 2019 was 75.66 thousand people, down by 16.12 percent compared to the previous month.
