Abstract

  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter III-2019 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached IDR19.13 trillion and GRDP at constant prices (ADHK) 2010 reached IDR13.79 trillion.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands in quarter III-2019 compared to quarter III-2018 (y-on-y) grew by 3.05 percent, experiencing a slowdown when compared to the third quarter-2018 growth of 7.08 percent. From the production side, the biggest sources of growth come from the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Business Fields. Meanwhile in terms of expenditure, the biggest source of growth comes from the Household Consumption Expenditure Component.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter III-2019 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) grew by 1.96 percent, slowing when compared to the previous quarter which was 4.12 percent. From the production side, growth occurred in most business sectors, but there were six business sectors contracted. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, some components experienced a slowdown and even contraction, especially import and export transactions.
  • The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands until quarter III-2019 (c-to-c) grew 3.12 percent against the cumulative quarter III-2018 (c-to-c). From the production side, growth was driven by almost all business fields except the Processing Industry Business field which contracted by 0.15. Meanwhile in terms of expenditure, the biggest source of growth comes from the Household Consumption Expenditure Component.
  • The spatial structure of the island of Sumatra in the third quarter of 2019 was dominated by the provinces of North Sumatra and Riau. North Sumatra Province gave the largest contribution to the GRDP of the island of Sumatra, which amounted to 23.44 percent, followed by Riau Province amounted to 21.92 percent. While the Bangka Belitung Islands Province only contributed 2.19 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island in the third quarter of 2019.
