July 2023 Tanjungpandan City Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 2.69 percent and Month to Month (m-o-m) deflation of 0.58 percent

Abstract

In July 2023 there was Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 2.69 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 120.42. The highest y-on-y inflation occurred in Merauke at 5.21 percent with a CPI of 116.10 and the lowest was in Gunungsitoli at 0.50 percent with a CPI of 116.28.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.14 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 2.39 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 1.15 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group by 1.32 percent; the health group by 2.52 percent; transportation group of 14.49 percent; recreation, sport and culture group by 1.55 percent; the education group by 2.58 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 2.66 percent; as well as the personal care and other services group of 4.53 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the information, communication and financial services group by 0.66 percent.
The Month to Month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 0.58 percent and the Year to Date (y-to-d) inflation rate was 4.22 percent.
The y-on-y inflation rate for the Energy component was 8.98 percent and the y-on-y deflation for the Foodstuffs component was 2.03 percent.
