Abstract

In August 2022 the Combined 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung experienced a deflation of 1.36 percent with a CPI of 112.88. The inflation rate for the calendar year August 2022 is 4.04 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2022 versus August 2021) is 6.38 percent

The two CPI monitoring cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands province also experienced deflation, namely Pangkalpinang by 1.20 percent with a CPI of 111.52 and Tanjungpandan City by 1.65 percent with a CPI of 115.34.

This month's deflation occurred due to a 2.74 percent decline in the index in 6 expenditure groups, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.10 percent; health group by 0.02 percent; transportation group by 3.49 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.13 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced an increase in the index were the clothing and footwear group by 0.29 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.37 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.02 percent; education group by 0.17 percent; and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group of 0.29 p

The joint deflationary share of the 2 Cities in Bangka Belitung in August 2022 was mainly contributed by air transportation commodities, shallots, and broiled chicken. Meanwhile, the driver of the inflation rate was the increase in commodity prices for round fish, household fuel, and rice
